Should We Respect God/Religion that does not respect basic human rights or humanity itself?

Do good, live well, help out your fellow man, respect one another, just do that and you'll be okay. Don't think so much about the murders and deaths that happen in the bible, I know everyone's obsessed with blood & death, but we need to get past this.
